| A variety of C12 products are of interest in the manufacture of synthetic aroma chemicals or fragrance intermediates, particularly for the manufacture of macrocyclic musks. Many macrocyclic musks, used in fine fragrances, cosmetics, soaps and detergents, are biodegradable, which is fueling their growth in all end uses.
Cyclic Esters prepared by the reaction of Dodecanedioic acid (DDDA) with ethylene glycol are excellent fixatives.

| Cyclododecanone (CDDK) is also a starting material for macrocyclic musk lactones. These lactones have high substantivity and highly desirable musk odor properties as well as good biodegradability and excellent fixative properties. |

| Cyclododecanol (CDDA) is used in the synthesis of aroma chemicals which impart a woody note, while Cyclooctadiene (COD) is useful in the manufacture of floral notes. |
