Introduction
INVISTA´s CorfreeŽ M2 is a high purity 12-carbon dibasic acid (dodecanedioic acid) which
provides excellent ferrous corrosion inhibition properties. It is used in a variety of corrosion
inhibitor applications, including metalworking fluids, engine coolant formulations, cleaners,
and aqueous hydraulic fluids. When formulated as an amine salt, CorfreeŽ M2 provides
superior corrosion protection than alternatives such as sebacic acid, azelaic acid, and long-
chain monobasic acids. CorfreeŽ M2 formulations do not leave undesirable, hard-to-clean
residues associated with amine borate formulations.
